About SymbolHubs

SymbolHubs exists because most symbol websites are thin. They tell you a lotus means “purity” and move on, leaving out the thousands of years of Egyptian, Hindu and Buddhist thought that made it so. We wanted a single place that takes symbols seriously — their origins, how their meaning shifts between cultures, what they signify as tattoos, and how they connect to one another.

Every symbol page here is researched and written to real depth, with at least three distinct cultural perspectives where the symbol genuinely differs. We'd rather cover the few hundred symbols people actually search for properly than pad the site with obscure entries nobody is looking for.

Who runs SymbolHubs

SymbolHubs is built and run by Praveen, an independent website maker based in Berlin, Germany. It is a solo, self-funded project — there is no content team and no AI-spun filler farm behind it. Sources are read and cross-checked by hand, and the site is written to be the reference on a symbol that its author would actually want to find. When a claim rests on contested or uncertain scholarship, the page says so rather than papering over it.

Corrections & accuracy

Writing about living religious and cultural traditions carries a responsibility to get things right — and to fix them when we don't. If you find an error, an outdated claim, or a misrepresentation of a tradition, please tell us on the contact page. We especially welcome corrections from members of the traditions we write about; a note from someone who lives a practice outranks a secondary source, and we will update the affected page and note the change. Symbols with sacred or religious significance are handled per our Cultural Respect policy.
